Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of KoQ Lighting LLC's services and website at koqlighting.com. By requesting a quote or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.

Services

KoQ Lighting LLC provides seasonal holiday lighting and permanent architectural lighting services, including free design consultation, supply of all materials, professional installation, in-season maintenance visits, post-season removal, and off-season storage of customer-owned lighting equipment. The scope of work is defined by the design agreed upon at your consultation.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to request a quote, enter into a service agreement, or opt in to receive text messages from KoQ Lighting LLC. By submitting our quote request form you confirm that you are 18 or older.

Quotes and Pricing

All quotes are based on the design reviewed and agreed upon during your consultation. Quotes are valid for 14 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated in writing. Any changes to the agreed scope of work — including additions to rooflines, trees, wreaths, or other elements — may result in an adjusted price. We will notify you of any price change before proceeding with additional work.

Deposits and Payment

A 50% deposit is required to reserve your install date and authorize KoQ Lighting to purchase materials for your project. This deposit covers the cost of materials ordered on your behalf and secures your place on the installation schedule. The remaining balance is due upon completion of installation. Payment is accepted by check, ACH transfer, or major credit card.

Cancellation and Refunds

If you cancel before materials have been purchased, your deposit will be refunded in full. If you cancel after materials have been purchased but before installation, the portion of the deposit used for materials is non-refundable; any unused remainder will be returned to you. If you cancel after installation has begun or been completed, no refund is available. All cancellations must be communicated in writing by email to info@koqlighting.com.

Scheduling and Weather

Install dates are estimates and subject to change. Snow, ice, sustained high winds, or other unsafe weather conditions may require us to reschedule. We will notify you as early as possible if a date needs to move. KoQ Lighting is not liable for delays caused by weather or other conditions outside our control. Rescheduled installs are completed as quickly as conditions and crew availability allow.

Property Access

By booking with KoQ Lighting, you grant us access to your property's exterior, including rooflines, eaves, trees, shrubs, and exterior electrical outlets, for the purposes of installation, maintenance, and removal. You confirm that you are the property owner or have obtained permission from the property owner to authorize this work.

Condition of Property and Liability

KoQ Lighting LLC is fully insured. If damage occurs to your property as a direct result of our work, please notify us in writing within 5 business days of the incident and we will work with you to resolve the claim. KoQ Lighting is not responsible for pre-existing defects or damage to roofing, gutters, siding, fascia, wiring, or other structures that were present before our work began. We will photograph your property before and after installation to document pre-existing conditions.

Removal and Storage

Holiday lighting removal is included in your service package and is typically completed by January 15 of the following year, weather permitting. All customer-owned lighting materials are carefully removed, inspected, and stored by KoQ Lighting between seasons at no additional charge. Stored materials remain the property of the customer. KoQ Lighting takes reasonable care of stored materials but is not liable for loss due to circumstances beyond our control such as fire, flood, or theft.

SMS / Text Messaging

Customers opt in to receive text messages from KoQ Lighting LLC by ticking the SMS consent checkbox on the quote request form at koqlighting.com. By opting in, you agree to receive text messages related to your quote and services, including:

• Quote follow-up and project details
• Appointment scheduling and confirmations
• Install day coordination
• In-season service updates
• Occasional seasonal offers from KoQ Lighting

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services from KoQ Lighting LLC.

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KoQ Lighting LLC's liability for any claim arising from these terms or our services is limited to the amount paid by the customer for the specific service giving rise to the claim. KoQ Lighting is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Nassau County, New York.
